Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains what DrMCQ processes when you sign in, practise questions, save an exam result, or request an AI explanation. DrMCQ is intended for educational revision of medical and dental multiple-choice questions.
1. Account information
DrMCQ uses Firebase Authentication for Google sign-in and email/password accounts. Firebase may process account identifiers, email address, display name, provider details and authentication events to provide sign-in and security features. Do not share your password or verification credentials.
2. Exam progress
When an exam is submitted while you are signed in, DrMCQ may save the programme, year, subject, score, answer counts, duration, submission time, and references to the question-bank items you answered. It stores question references instead of duplicating full question text in every result where those references are available. You can review or delete saved results from the Study progress section of your account. If a question bank is removed, a saved review may no longer be able to reload its questions.
3. AI explanations
If you select “Ask ChatGPT” during post-exam review, DrMCQ sends the question, its answer choices, subject context, and whether your selected choice was correct to the DrMCQ server, which sends the request to the OpenAI API to generate a short explanation. DrMCQ does not send your Firebase user ID or your account email to OpenAI in that question payload, and it does not send the official correct-option index. AI-generated explanations can be incomplete or incorrect and are for education, not clinical decision-making.
AI explanations are limited to five requests per day per signed-in account in the initial version. The service provider processes requests according to its own policies. Read the OpenAI Privacy Policy.
4. Browser storage
DrMCQ may use browser storage for preferences such as theme and for local-only data left by earlier versions. Avoid using a public or shared device for sensitive account activity, and sign out when finished.
5. Sharing and security
DrMCQ uses Firebase security rules to restrict account-specific exam history and administrative actions. Secrets used by the AI service are configured on the server rather than in page JavaScript. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep your account credentials private.
6. Deleting information
You can delete individual saved exam results from the Study progress section. To request deletion of an account or ask a question about this policy, use the official DrMCQ social/contact channel made available by the site owner.
7. Changes
This policy may be updated as DrMCQ features change. The latest version will be available on this page.
